In the shadow of the chasing cockroach, Zimbabwe’s ill-fated local currency remains on a downward spiral, losing ground against the mighty US Reserve currency. While the illegitimate, vile, and terrorizing tactics of the ruling party, ZANU PF, continue to make headlines, the real issue lies elsewhere – an ignored fat elephant in the room. The pursuit of ineffective strategies, such as printing alleged gold coins, blaming sanctions, and unsustainable borrowing, serves as nothing more than chasing cockroaches when confronted with a massive elephant or camel in the tent.

ZANU PF, characterized by its dubious tactics and destructive policies, seems blind to the fact that it is the primary architect of the impending collapse of the local currency. Once touted as the region’s strongest currency for populist and propagandist reasons, the reality is starkly different. The education sector lies in paralysis, leaving citizens ill-informed about their regional neighbors and their currencies.

For the local currency to have any hope of survival, decisive actions are imperative. A pivotal step is the rejuvenation of the supreme law of the land – a concept consistently violated by the pestilent ZANU PF. Their ongoing assault on the constitution is a means to cling to power illegitimately, subsequently gaining unconstitutional access to fiscal and natural resources, fueling plunder and exploitation. Tragically, the very citizens the party should protect are left neglected and terrorized.

Revitalizing the supreme law of the land would usher in a rule of law, replacing the current rule by law scenario. This crucial shift would act as a barrier against the predation, plunder, extraction, and terrorism perpetuated by the failed and cancerous ZANU PF. Transparency and accountability would become cornerstones, significantly curbing the party’s extraction, predation, and parasitic behavior.

It’s high time for Zimbabweans to demand change. The chasing of cockroaches and blaming of external factors can no longer be tolerated. ZANU PF’s failure to address the looming fat elephant – symbolizing the party’s destructive policies and actions – is driving the local currency into the ground. A united call for the restoration of the supreme law of the land is the only way forward. By doing so, Zimbabwe can break free from the shackles of exploitation and corruption, embracing a future of transparency, accountability, and genuine prosperity for all citizens.
